This is a recreation of one of the first programs I ever wrote back in 1996. Written in Visual Basic, it featured a handmade MS Paint drawing of my own created cartoon character, Diarrhea Man, dancing along to songs from the Vandals album, Live Fast Diarrhea. I applied a swirl effect in steps and animated the frames to create the illusion of a dancing motion.
The 2019 version features an update drawing of Diarrhea Man, this time created in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. The swirl effect is applied in-browser using the WebGL API, meaning we can now apply different effect parameters to create a multitude of dancing presets. This also eliminates the need for individual animation frames, thus reducing the overall bandwidth usage and size on disk. Diarrhea Man still dances to the same music.
So, without further ado, I present Diarrhea Dancer v2.0
